The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Wild Brawl Breaks Out at South Carolina IHOP

(By Jonathon M. Seidl, The Blaze) - Video of a wild brawl at an Orangeburg, South Carolina International House of Pancakes (IHOP) has made its way to the company’s corporate headquarters, forcing the restaurant chain to reevaluate how to keep its patrons safe.

The video, posted on YouTube on Saturday, shows a heated conversation between a man and a woman quickly degenerate into an all out brawl, complete with thrown punches, thrown cups, and one man wielding what looks like a cane. It starts with a women yelling the curious phrase, “I ride the ride!”:
