Wild Video: Heroic Elderly Woman Fights Off Would-Be Jewel Thieves

(By Meredith Jessup, The Blaze) - As a small contingent of would-be jewel thieves tries to break through a UK jewelry store window with a sledge hammer, an elderly woman rushes across the street and uses her handbag to fight off the bandits.

Worried the police may be hot on their trail at any moment, the unsuccessful crooks try to make a getaway, but bystanders manage to drag one to the ground and hold him until Northampton authorities arrive. ITN reports that police have arrested four of six suspects involved in the attempted robbery.
