BYU’s Brandon Davies Admits To Premarital Sex With Girlfriend, Promptly Kicked Off Team

(By Dan Fogarty, SportsGrid) - BYU’s Brandon Davies was dismissed from the the men’s basketball team after admitting to premarital sex with his girlfriend. BYU, of course, is owned and operated by the Church of Latter-day Saints, and has an incredibly strict honor code which professes chastity among its students. It was the violation of this honor code that led to Davies’ dismissal.

It’s a rough time for the Cougars to kick one of their best players off the team: they are currently ranked number 3 in the country, and up to this point, were a dark horse favorite for a a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Davies, a physical presence underneath, was a big part of that.
