The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Fox News Interviews WI Democratic Rep. Who ‘Rescued’ GOP Senator Mobbed By Protesters

(By Alex Alvarez, Mediaite) - In a refreshing demonstration of civility amid reports of mounting frustration, Wisconsin Democratic Rep. Brett Hulsey swooped in to stop a mob of protesters from closing in on Republican State Senator Glenn Grothman, telling those gathered that, while he and Grothman may disagree on political matters, he considers the man a friend.

Both Grothman and Hulsey spoke to Fox News about the incident, saying that, with such pervasive heated rhetoric, young people tend to get carried and behave “rudely.”
