Video: Tyler Zeller’s Buzzer-Beating Layup Completes UNC Comeback Over Miami

(By Brad Cohen, SportsGrid) - The Miami Hurricanes almost continued their magical ACC Tournament run with a huge upset over the No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels, but UNC’s Tyler Zeller put an end to Miami’s ACC championship hopes when he hit a layup at the buzzer.

After pulling off a nearly impossible 10-point comeback against Virginia yesterday, Miami managed to blow a 19-point second half lead to the Tar Heels. The ‘Canes had plenty of chances to close out the game, but couldn’t seem to find the basket—they scored only four points in the final 7:46.

In the end, it might have come down to the ol’ announcer jinx, as the commentators mentioned countless times that North Carolina never led throughout the game…that is, until Zeller hit the shot at the buzzer to give the Heels their eighth straight victory.
