Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Bill Maher To Rachel Maddow On The GOP: ‘I Hate Them As Much As You Do’

(By Matt Schneider, Mediaite) - Bill Maher appeared with Rachel Maddow to discuss Republican Congressman Paul Ryan’s “fantasy budget” and to express his disappointment with President Obama and the Democrats over their inability to negotiate effectively. Maher described the Republican budget plan as “screw the present for the future” and eventually just concluded, somewhat facetiously, that he hates Republicans.
