Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Liberal Rep Barney Frank (D-MA): Michele Bachmann’s Thinking Is ‘Seriously Delusional’ And ‘Bizarre’

(By Matt Schneider, Mediaite) - Democratic Congressman Barney Frank appeared on 'The Ed Show' last night with substitute host Chris Hayes and unveiled a new description for people in the Tea Party that at least should garner some chuckles for its randomness. Frank also thought Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was “seriously delusional” and “bizarre” to think Democrats have it as their goal to shutdown the government.
