Possible Federal Government Shutdown Would Impact Triad Residents

(WGHP) - If a government shutdown happens in Washington at midnight Friday, many Triad residents will see its effects.

More than 800,000 federal workers would undergo a work stoppage, meaning several citizen services would be temporarily halted.

President Barack Obama called an emergency meeting with Democratic and Republican leaders on Wednesday night to try to hammer out a deal. Obama and Republican John Boehner made brief statements around 10:45 p.m., saying talks would continue through the night. Both sides also sounded confident that a deal would be reached.

Instead of picketing, shouldn't these people be at work? They need to keep in mind that they work on behalf of the taxpayer. I would be curious to know the salaries of those that were picketing. I bet they make a lot more than you and I do.
