Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Preliminary Report Released in High Point Plane Crash

HIGH POINT, NC (WGHP) — The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary report Saturday into the fatal plane crash in High Point.

Pilot Marcia Salmons-Keaton, 50, of Fuquay-Varina, and passenger Thomas Littlejohn III, of Winston-Salem, died on March 30 after a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58 crashed into a home on Dairy Point Drive at 5:46 p.m. Sochan Rumthao and his three children escaped the house uninjured.
