The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Heckled: Audience Erupts in Cheers, Jeers During Weiner Resignation

(By Billy Hallowell, The Blaze) - Just when we thought the circus was over, Rep. Anthony Weiner’s resignation press conference degenerated into one.

During the four-minute presser, audience members cheered and jeered as the embattled congressman made his resignation official. As the congressman attempted to apologize, yet again, to his constituents and to his wife, the audience shouted out, briefly stopping him in his tracks.

Bye, bye pervert!” one person yelled. “Get him out, he’s not with us!” said another in reference to the person making inappropriate comments. There were plenty more inappropriate quips as well.

When the disgraced politician finally concluded his statements, one man could be heard yelling ”Will you maintain your hot physique?” You can watch the chaos unfold below. The heckling starts at 1:50:
