Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

"Giving a damn"

Hey Strother: If these musicians want to go on a tour of Africa to distribute the money they raised, then that's good; I have no problem with that.

There's hypocrisy in every administration, so it's not like this White House is the first ones to contradict itself. ...

Conservatives care about helping people. ... It's the people that makes this country & this world great. However, I don't consider getting more & more people dependent on government, as liberals do, as "helping people."

It's easy to say, "I give a damn". ... Talk is cheap. What the people in Africa want are results, and just giving them handouts isn't working. "Giving a damn" is finding something that actually works...
