Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Aid to Africa

You are missing my point. What are we to do with the sick and starving in the meantime? I don't discredit these folks who say debt relief and bags of grain aren't going to solve the problem long term. Of course it won't. But we can't sit and watch people dying while we debate what to do next. I have yet to see a solution in any of the articles you've posted so far.
