Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: RE: "George Bush's little pre-fab war"

I agree, our action in Afghanistan has more to do with setting Al Qaeda back because we took away their home base to plan & conduct their terrorist activities. To be honest, how do any of us know that taking out Saddam has helped us or hurt us. ... I just know that Saddam is sitting in a jail cell, the Iraqi people are writing a constitution, and the US is in there for as long as it takes to make things okay. ... Look how long it took us to fix Germany & Japan after the end of WWII.

I agree about being too PC. ... Wars are not meant to be fought by the PC police. ... As Gen. Patton said, "The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other son of a b***h die for his."
