Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

PC Mascots

Another example of wasted time and energy on unimportant issues...

This whole thing is ridiculous, especially considering the fact that FSU hired actual Seminole Indians to design their logo and costume their mascot (who is an actual person-- not a caricature).

Certainly, no one wants to offend anyone, but where do you draw the line? Do we get rid of the "Fightin' Irish"? That's certainly based on a stereotype of Irish immigrants. And what about the "Demon Deacons"? I've never understood that one anyway.

Regarding ASU's mascot Yosef, he actually was changed years ago to appear more "PC". His bottle of moonshine was eliminated.
