Strother Flames Out
Sounds to me like you're simply unable to credit anyone you deem 'liberal' as being able to give a superior education without including socialist indoctrination.
Use your brain instead of your emotions for a change, Strother. I said nothing of the sort and you are using emotional hyperbole to twist what I said. That is childish and dishonest. You were the one who specified Montessori. I have been familiar with the teaching methods and content provided by Montessori since before you were born. I would offer that any number of private schools hosting a staff with a mixture of political outlooks are completely capable of providing a superior education without the socialist indoctrination.
Obviously, Steve must think that the commies have also infiltrated private Montessori schools, as well as all other private schools not religious or home-school-type.
Did I say anything like that? You demean yourself, Strother, with these childish, school-yard taunts.
Do you actually fear 'superior education' when methods of learning are taught by those you think are 'liberals?' That's rather paranoid and doesn't speak volumes about your confidence in your own morality, viewpoints, or teaching abilities from a parental perspective.
Nice. What a disappointing response, Strother. First you ask a question that is intended to produce a particular response and then you go ahead and assume that I answered the question in the way you wanted me to and use that to throw thinly veiled insults at me. Once again, this is a juvenile tactic and below you, I hope. I will answer the question, though. I would submit that the absence of a liberal point of view (whatever that means) would preclude a superior education, just as I have continuously held that the absence of a balanced conservative (whatever that means) or libertarian point of view in the government-run school system is one of its primary failures.
Being a good parent is homeschooling.
By all means, it is, but now you are just being disingenuous. And you're dodging the issue. Homeschooling in this context has a particular meaning and you know it. If you want to discuss that, we can, but I'm not going to play this stupid little game of semantics you are offering.
I hate to say it, but having the same two teachers year after year the same two that already are supposed to fill their free moments with other unexhausted lessons, ideas, and fun with you sounds less like a good deal and more like a bore.
Then you have no understanding of homeschooling or its benefits. I suggest you do some research.
