Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Fan mail... :-)

If it wasn't for Strother's, Behethland's & my comments hardly anyone would read your blog anyway. Only other misguided folks looking for some conservative propoganda to help them rationalize their selfish, and often bigoted, worldviews would take the time to look at this stuff. And besides, your blog is entertaining...where else could i find such ignorant & obtuse, yet amusing, points of view?

And why didn't you repsond to my remark about building Wal-Marts just across the border? Hit a little too close to home? Nothing like building a giant retail store right on the Stokes County line so Stokes tax dollars pay for the roads to access it while Forsyth County will reap all of the tax revenue, huh?
