Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Vernon Robinson wins 63% in 13th District primary vote

Vernon Robinson, a former city-council member from Winston-Salem, was on his way last night to challenging U.S. Rep. Brad Miller in the November election.

In the Republican primary in the 13th Congressional District, Robinson had taken 6,125 votes, or 63 percent of the vote, to lead Charlie Sutherland of Rockingham County, with 2,438 votes (24 percent), and John Ross Hendrix of Cary, who had 1,196 votes (12 percent), with all precincts reporting unofficial results.

Vernon kicked some RINO butt last night. I'll bet Strother is thinking of moving into the district so he can vote for Vernon this fall.
