Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Another '08 prediction from yours truly...

Strother opines: "But as far as 'cheering up' is concerned, if the only other potential prexy Dems can come up with is Gore, there's not a lot to be happy about. Lord knows they should be able to do better than that. In turn, Republicans shouldn't be any happier — a bad Dem contender means less pressure on Repubs to get a better candidate than, say, McCain."

Let's just say the potential field of candidates in '08 doesn't look good for both parties. Another prediction from yours truly: John McCain will NOT be the GOP nominee in '08. Other than Lindsey Graham and Chuck Hagel, who else likes him???
