Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Plunge Ahead: Take a hike to adventure at Hanging Rock's falls

The family unit (I, my wife, our son, and the dog) had a really nice day at Hanging Rock a few Saturdays ago. Leaving at the end of the afternoon, I and my wife promised ourselves that we’d get up there more often for some exercise and clarity. I had forgotten what a beautiful and unique park it is (which is pretty pathetic considering that I spent two whole summers working there as a teenager). As the Triad area continues to grow, I think that Hanging Rock will increasingly serve as an important day trip destination (and possibly an extra lure to those who want to live in or near Stokes County).
