WYTHEVILLE, Va.

The "Star" is no longer shining at Kirk Heldreth's Rural Retreat dairy farm.

Yesterday, a representative of Ripley's Entertainment Inc. picked up the body of Heldreth's calf with two faces, an animal that became a local, national and even international celebrity after its birth Dec. 27, 2006.

Heldreth said he came out to feed Star on Friday morning, but the calf had apparently died in her sleep, he said.

"She had been doing fine. She had added weight, about 80 pounds," he said. "It's just one of those things."
