Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Black's plea insults the public

Former Speaker of the N.C. House Jim Black isn't through offending the people of North Carolina.

It was not enough for Black to put the state's budget and laws up for sale to the highest bidder. Now he insults the intelligence of the electorate by proclaiming his innocence while accepting a guilty verdict on charges of bribery and obstruction of justice.
