Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Poor Steve

Do you ever admit when you're wrong? I guess that's why you defend silly statements from someone like Coulter. She doesn't either.

Steve: You wish, Strother.

No. Actually, I honestly don't give a damn about what is said at some square political pep rally. I just call a spade a spade. Again, what Coulter said was nothing more than an attempt to get her name back in the news by riding the momentum of a presidential candidate. (Or maybe Edwards actually has "Joe-mentum" — we shall soon see.) Anyway, she didn't address the audience, she used the audience to gain a few headlines and increased buzz in the political blog world.

Steve: On this blog alone, she got a closet Democrat and Edwards supporter and a True Believer Republican to become brothers in arms in defense of homosexual PC.

"In defense of homosexual PC"? Huh? How's that? BTW, I'm registered unaffiliated — not a Democrat — and won't vote for Edwards.

Steve on why John Edwards is a "metrosexual": Edwards is the hair-products for men poster boy of metrosexuals

Since you brought it up, I think Edwards' hair looks mostly like the carefully-coiffed style of your average Southern Baptist preacher. Are they metrosexuals, too, Steve? BTW, I find it funny that Steve Brenneis is discussing the use of hair care products on The Bully Pulpit. Steve, you still haven't explained how John Edwards is a metrosexual. Maybe you're tuned into something that the rest of us aren't?

I don’t think John Edwards has much momentum. He’s being overshadowed by Ms. Bill Clinton and Barak Obama, and to some extent, he’s being overshadowed by Al Gore. With that said, Edwards is going to use Ann Coulter’s remark as a rallying cry for his campaign.

And you can thank Ann for that, Andy.

I agree... Maybe Edwards will send Coulter a thank-you note. :-)
