Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: TV Host Bill Maher Suggests Dick Cheney's Death Would Save Lives

I was going to suggest that there would be no outrage over this unless Maher had called Cheney a faggot, but I'm not really so sure, given the double standard that exists for the media darlings of the Left.

Of course we all know, calling someone a faggot is much worse than suggesting that the world would be better if the Vice President of the United States was dead.

Well, he is a Republican and a conservative after all.
