Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Many Potholes Lie In the Road Ahead

...the politicians at the top of the food chain send the wrong message when, in trying to find ways to improve the road-building system, they appoint more political types to do the job.

There's already a political body with limited transportation expertise overseeing road construction in North Carolina. It's called the Board of Transportation.

And it's partly why mismanagement exists today.
