The initial incident arose when the 13- year Cody Alicea was told to remove the American flag from his bike he’s been displaying for 2 months by Denair Middle School in California. His family was told it must be removed for safety reasons due to a flag incident that occurred on Cinco de Mayo.

The school has since reversed their decision and told Cody he can display his flag once again.
