College Basketball Player Hits Ridiculous 86-Foot Buzzer Beater

(By Glenn Davis, SportsGrid) - Let’s face it – the Patriots, the athletic teams from the small (fewer than 1,800 undergrads), private University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky, would have to do something pretty outrageous to get noticed. They’re an NAIA school, and while their, say, women’s basketball team has a solid 13-8 record, it’s still nothing spectacular. And yet – here we are, talking about them. Why? Enter Stephanie Quattrociocchi.

Quattrociocchi, a senior guard, got the ball at the end of the first half of the Patriots’ most recent game, against Campbellsville. Problem: there wasn’t time to do anything but heave up a desperation shot…from all the way across the court. Solution: do this.
