Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Obama Never Had Contact With Half Dozen Cabinet Officials in First Two Years

(The Blast) - Apparently President Obama did not have contact with a half dozen cabinet members during his first 2 years in office, according to John Heilemann of New York Magazine. No phone calls, sit down meetings, nothing.

Heilemann makes a great point in saying this shows that not only was he not listening to people outside of the administration, he wasn’t listening to people within the administration.
