Former ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis Leads ‘Church’ in Singing ‘Walmart Sucks’

(By Mike Opelka, The Blaze) - New York City’s overall unemployment rate is still above 8.5%, with a jobless rate among African-Americans reported to be nearly double that number. The economy is in such awful shape you might you might expect the locals to celebrate the news of Wal-Mart’s plan to open a store in the NYC area, bringing jobs and affordable shopping to the local community. That did not happen.

Instead of supporting a company that wants to invest in NYC and her people, groups like ACORN have organized support to fight Wal-Mart’s plans. This is nothing new as ACORN and its union friends (SEIU and UFCW) have organized protests and picketing at Wal-Mart locations around the country. In some reported cases, the hired picket line walkers who were supposedly marching in support of a unionized work force and a ‘living wage’ were paid less than Wal-Mart employees just a few feet away.
