Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

African Aid

This is from Jennifer Flippin - Collinstown native, long time friend, former classmate, graduated high school with me & Strother:

Andy:
I am enjoying your blog. My peace corps friend is in Tanzania and has created a blog. Your blog debates aid for Africa. Maybe you (and the others) should check it out and see the problems in Africa through the eyes of someone there trying to help. She is still in training but has some interesting experiences already detailed on her blog. She is very witty, sarcastic, and funny. I'll let you guess her political affiliation... Ha! I am very proud of her for not just talking about the problems (as I do) but actually doing something about it. I believe that once entrenched into the culture of her assigned village, there will be countless experiences detailed in her blog, that will touch us all. I hope you will check it out from time to time and get a sense of what really goes on (and not just what is shown on main stream media).
Her blog is http://janaimani.blogspot.com/.
I hope all is well.
Jen
