Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

End Universal Suffrage

While I'm waxing politically philosophical....

If we want to solve our electoral woes and return some semblance of the constitutional republic we once enjoyed, we must first end universal suffrage.

Two immediate steps that would set our feet on the right path would be to repeal the elements of constitutional amendments that grant nearly universal suffrage and to return the Senate to its proper role of representing the interest of the individual states. Voting should be restricted to male property owners over the age of twenty-one, and Senators should be elected by the legislatures of the states.

Maybe I'll start a movement.
