Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Michael Moore Threatens Democrats

Writes Moore on his Web site: "Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq and who continues to support, in any way, this senseless, immoral, unwinnable war. Make no mistake about it: We, the majority of Americans, want this war ended -- and we will actively work to defeat each and every one of you who does not support an immediate end to this war."
If Lieberman wins in the fall as an Independent, I wonder what Moore would say about that???

Steve opines: "If I didn't know better, I would swear that Moore is on the GOP payroll. Moore's own mouth-breathers and Kool-Aid-drinkers (Tucker, paging Tucker, please answer the white courtesy phone) will lap this right up, but Moore's little Howie Dean moment here will drive the mushy middle ever more deeply into the arms of the neocons and the pubbies."
Steve, you're becoming too predictable. :-)
