Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Stokes County School Board Race is candidate-packed

(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - Three more people filed to run for the Stokes County Board of Education just before filing ended on Friday, July 30, at noon. This brings to seven the total number of candidates for the three available seats.

One of the newest candidates is Allen Huff, 37, of Westfield. He is joined by Mike Rogers, 43, of Walnut Cove, and Zollie Smith, 49, of King.

These three newest campaigners join the four who had previously filed to run: Bill Hart, 62, of Lawsonville; Colon Moore, 42, of King; David L. Smith, 61, of King; and Jamie Yontz, 35, of King.

The non-partisan election will be held on Tuesday, November 2.

I know this is a non-partisan election but since in reality non-partisan politics do not exist,I would like to know the party affiliation of all the candidates. Where is this information available. Thanks,nicholas
