The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Hilarious 1994 ‘Today’ Show Clip Allegedly Costs Poster His Job

(By Mike Opelka, The Blaze) - Last week as the world buzzed about Egypt’s riots and the coverage being disbursed thanks to Twitter, Facebook, and the web in general, a 1994 video clip from the Today Show surfaced. On the very brief clip we saw Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric wondering about this new-fangled communication system called the Internet.



The clip went viral in a matter of hours and today we learned that viral videos can have a price. Washington Post blogger/columnist Rob Pegoraro tweeted that the gentleman who posted the clip has been fired.
