Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Again? Nail Bomb Reportedly Explodes on London Tube

From CNSNews.com:

Three subways stations in London were evacuated Thursday and surrounding streets cordoned off, following reports of smoke and/or explosions in at least one station. Later reports mentioned some kind of "incident," possibly an explosion, on a bus in Hackney Road. Reuters reported that a nail bomb exploded at the Warren Street Tube Station. (Passengers reported hearing gunshots; police were quoted as saying the noises may have been detonators.) Sky News said this is not a "run of the mill security scare," but details remained sketchy as of 8:30 a.m. EDT (midday in London). Sky News first mentioned a suspicious package on a train; another report mentioned smoke coming from a train; and yet another report mentioned a man with a backpack. These are very early reports; nothing is confirmed, but press reports mentioned panicked commuters fleeing from the Warren Street, Oval Street and Shepherd's Bush stations, all in different parts of London. It was two weeks ago today that terrorists bombed three subway trains and a double-decker bus in central London, killing 50 people. More to come.
