Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: What about the mandatory contraceptive idea?

If you're going to demand to be taken seriously, you'll have better luck at it if you leave off the juvenile cheap shots.

Here's a freebie:

Mandatory contraception is a supremely stupid idea. It has been fully explored for us before. If you are unfamiliar with that exploration, I suggest you read Huxley's Brave New World. Of course, being a stupid idea, the Chinese Communists have embraced it wholeheartedly. The Soviets tried it for a while as well. Aside from the fact that it is a completely dehumanizing system, it ultimately and inevitably results in eugenics. In fact, the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger was a confirmed eugenecist. She wanted contraception provided to the "lesser races" in hopes of "thinning the herd," as you so eloquently put it before. She also favored involuntary abortion, sterilization, and child euthanasia for the "lesser races." A real sweetheart. She makes such a wonderful feminist and liberal idol, don't you think?
