Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Edwards: Jesus Would Be 'Appalled' at U.S.

Fox News

CHAPEL HILL -
Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards says Jesus would be appalled at how the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering, and that he believes children should have private time to pray at school.

Edwards, in an interview with the Web site Beliefnet.com, said Jesus would be most upset with the selfishness of Americans and the country's willingness to go to war "when it's not necessary."

How can John Edwards honestly say the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering??? This coming from a guy who just built a multi-million dollar home. What a hypocrite.

Well of course Christ would be appalled at the US. He would get a ride from someone driving an electric car with the "No Blood for Oil" bumpersticker. He would speak at the Edwards rally while mentioning how "Bush lied and people died" and apologize for the occupation of peaceful holy lands by American and Israel. Edwards would thank him and pay him 5 bucks to mow his grass.
